El mes pasado vivimos el primer Horizonte Waved, una jornada de conexión y crecimiento con todo el equipo. Celebramos a nuestros estudiantes destacados y abrimos un nuevo capítulo con la alianza junto al canal de TV, Sertv.

Historias infantiles que llegan a las pantallas de Sertv 

Celebramos la firma de un Acuerdo de Cooperación con SERTV Panamá, una alianza que nos permitirá llevar aún más lejos el impacto de nuestros estudiantes.

Gracias a este acuerdo, Waved News nuestro noticiero donde los estudiantes son protagonistas, seguirá creciendo y llegando a más personas, conectando historias, aprendizajes y realidades desde Isla Cañas hacia todo el país.

Este paso refleja más de 10 años de trabajo en comunidades costeras, impulsando oportunidades educativas y fortaleciendo la voz de cada estudiante. Hoy, avanzamos con más fuerza para que esas historias sean vistas, escuchadas y valoradas a nivel nacional.

Agradecemos a SERTV Panamá por creer en este proyecto y sumarse a nuestra misión. Estamos convencidos de que cuando visibilizamos el impacto, más personas se conectan, se inspiran y se suman a transformar realidades.

Last month, we held our first Horizonte Waved, a day dedicated to building connections and fostering growth with the entire team. We celebrated our outstanding students and kicked off a new chapter with our partnership with the TV channel, Sertv.

This event allowed us to reconnect with our vision and strengthen key skills such as leadership, communication, and confidence, which are directly reflected in every program and every student.

During this experience, we were joined by special guests who enriched the process:

• Paola Vergara, who holds a master’s degree in leadership and is a specialist in public management, shared a talk titled “Leadership as a Discipline.”
• Markova Concepción Jaramillo, a member of our board of directors and an expert in sustainable human development, who led the discussion on Child Protection.
• Yill Otero, also a member of our board of directors, who shared her experience and vision from the public and multilateral sectors. 

We proudly celebrate our students who won the “Cuentos Encantados” contest, organized by Manglares Discovery School:

• Heydi Ávila – Honorable Mention for “La montaña virgen”

• Irvin Ávila – Award for the Scariest Story for “Carretera Sangrienta”

• Jafeth de Gracia – Readers’ Choice for “The Cursed Servant”

• Lizary Ríos – Recognition for “The White Spectre Floating in the Night”

More than just recognition, these achievements represent the fruits of an educational process where literacy becomes a key tool for holistic development. Through this program, each student strengthens their critical thinking, finds their voice, and builds the confidence needed to express themselves and transform their reality.

We are celebrating the signing of a Cooperation Agreement with SERTV Panamá, a partnership that will allow us to expand the impact of our students even further.

Thanks to this agreement, Waved News our student-led news program will continue to grow and reach more people, connecting stories, learning experiences, and realities from Isla Cañas to the entire country.

This step reflects more than 10 years of work in coastal communities, promoting educational opportunities and strengthening the voice of every student. Today, we are moving forward with greater momentum so that these stories are seen, heard, and valued nationwide.
